Blue Coat Certified Proxy Administrator (BCCPA) Course
Audience: Students who wish to master the fundamentals of Blue Coat products and have not taken any previous Blue Coat training courses.
Prerequisites: Students should be familiar with networking essentials, such as LAN, Internet, security, and IP protocols. Basic knowledge of authentication methods is also a plus.
Description: The Blue Coat Certified Proxy Administrator (BCCPA) Course is intended for students who wish to master the fundamentals of Blue Coat products. This course is a revised version of the course formerly known as Proxy Fundamentals. You should not take the BCCPA course, if you have already taken the Proxy Fundamentals Course. Instead, you should take the BCCPA Upgrade course, which covers new material not included in the Proxy Fundamentals class.
Course Outline: The BCCPA Course covers Blue Coat SG and Firewalls, Blue Coat SG Deployment, Blue Coat SG Initial Setup, Blue Coat SG Graphical user interface (GUI), Services, Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), HTTP Compression, Authentication Introduction, Authentication Realms, Policy Management, Content Filtering, Managing Downloads, Managing Instant Messaging, Managing Peer-to-Peer Traffic, Notify User Policy, Access Logging, Introduction to Reporter, Blue Coat AV, and Support.

Upon completing this course and passing an online exam, students will become Blue Coat Certified Proxy Administrators.

Blue Coat Certified Proxy Professional (BCCPP) Course
Audience: Students who have taken the Blue Coat Certified Proxy Administrator (BCCPA) Course or passed the entrance exam.
Prerequisites: BCCPA Course or passing score on the entrance exam. Students need practical experience with the ProxySG in the field. Additionally, students should have advanced knowledge of networking, security, and authentication.
Description: The Blue Coat Certified Proxy Professional (BCCPP) Course is intended for students who wish to master the advanced features of Blue Coat products. This course is a revised version of the course formerly known as Advanced Proxy Solutions. The BCCPP Course focuses on advanced features in Blue Coat's most recent operating system. You must complete the BCCPA course before enrolling in the BCCPP course.
Course Outline: The BCCPP course covers system architecture, Content Policy Language (CPL), Regular Expressions, Apparent Data Type, HTTP Details , Policy Tracing, Forwarding, CP Tunneling, Reverse Proxy, Two-Way URL Rewrite, Advanced Reporter, Access Logging, Using Authentication in Transparent Proxy Mode, Understanding and Using Kerberos Authentication, Substitution Realm, Windows SSO, Blue Coat SG Security, Failover, Blue Coat Director, and Spyware Prevention.

Upon completing the course and passing an online exam, students will become Blue Coat Certified Proxy Professionals.

Blue Coat Certified WAN Optimization Course
Audience: User or prospective users of WAN Optimization technology.
Prerequisites: None.
Description:

The WAN Optimization Course is intended for students who want to use new Blue Coat SG features that enable application acceleration. The WAN Optimization Course discusses:

  • Application Delivery Network
  • MAPI, CIFS, and SSL proxies
  • Asymmetric Routing
  • VLAN Support
  • Bandwidth Management

It also provides hands-on lab exercises that teach students how to configure and use these features. This one-day course is designed on the newly released version of SGOS 5.1.4.
